When installing the Excellence floor protection mat on a floor with underfloor heating, it should be noted that the mat can affect the heat output of the floor. Heat can accumulate under the closed rubber surface, which may cause the floor temperature to rise locally. This can promote material-related off-gassing and temporarily increased odor development.
Before installation, you should observe the specifications of the floor and heating manufacturer regarding the permissible surface temperature and coverage of the floor covering. In particular, with sensitive surfaces such as oiled parquet, vinyl, or designer floors, you should clarify in advance whether an appropriate separation layer is required.
Additionally, it is recommended to lift the mats regularly so that the underlying area can be ventilated and checked for any moisture, discoloration, or material changes.
No specific maximum surface load in kg/m² is specified for the Excellence floor protection mat. However, due to its high material density and dimensionally stable rubber construction, it is designed for permanently high as well as point loads in home gym and professional studio environments.
It is particularly suitable as a base for heavy fitness equipment such as power racks, multi-presses, leg presses, cable stations, weight benches, as well as cardio and strength equipment. Even under permanent load from heavy equipment, the mat provides stable support and protects the underlying floor from pressure marks, scratches, and vibrations.
For particularly high point loads, the permissible load capacity of the existing subfloor or ceiling structure should also be taken into consideration.
The Excellence floor protection mat is classified in fire protection class Efl according to DIN EN 13501-1.
Regarding resistance to alcohol-based disinfectants, we do not have a binding manufacturer approval or specific testing available. For regular cleaning, we therefore recommend water and a mild cleaning product suitable for rubber floors.
If only small amounts of alcohol-based disinfectant occasionally come into contact with the surface, this should generally be less problematic than regular, area-wide cleaning with it. However, if the mat is to be permanently or regularly cleaned with alcohol-based disinfectants, we cannot provide binding confirmation of material compatibility.
