Dumbbell rack for dumbbells
The dumbbell rack is a special device for safely and neatly storing all types of dumbbells. The racks are made of solid, torsion-free sheet steel and can easily withstand the heavy loads of dumbbells. The dumbbell racks, both the base elements and the extension elements, are firmly screwed together. The elements feature coated feet to protect the floor.
Arguably the biggest advantage of a dumbbell rack is the organization it creates when used properly. Closely followed by the convenience provided by ergonomic dumbbell removal and storage. In short, if you own a set of dumbbells, you need a suitable dumbbell rack.
Different types of dumbbell racks
There's a dumbbell rack to suit every type of dumbbell. The models primarily differ in the shape of the racks. This component allows the racks to be individually adjusted to the dumbbell shape. For example, straight racks are suitable for hexagonal dumbbells, while racks with trays are suitable for round dumbbells.
Dumbbell rack for hexagonal dumbbells
Due to the hexagonal shape and the associated properties of hex dumbbells, it is important that the corresponding dumbbell rack has flat storage plates. This type of plate ensures safe storage of the dumbbells. Depending on the dumbbell rack, the plate can be mounted straight or at a certain angle to the feet. A slight offset can make removing and placing the dumbbells more comfortable. We recommend the ATX® dumbbell rack for hex dumbbells.
Dumbbell rack for round compact dumbbells
The primary disadvantage of round compact dumbbells is that they can roll on uneven surfaces. This makes it necessary to store the dumbbell in a rack with trays. The trays are universally sized and suitable for all standard round dumbbells with a minimum inside grip dimension of 130 mm. The half-shells are made of shatter-proof plastic, allowing for optimal, organized and safe storage of the dumbbells. We recommend the ATX® dumbbell rack with half-shells .
Dumbbell pyramid for dumbbell sets 1 to 10 kg
Due to their size and weight, the dumbbells weighing 1 to 10 kg can be stacked on top of each other in a pyramid. Vertical storage is particularly space-saving – ideal for compact free weight areas or classrooms. Dumbbell pyramids are typically equipped with chrome or hex dumbbells . Motion Sports recommends the dumbbell pyramid – for 10 pairs of dumbbells – as a modern and functional storage solution.
Advantages of dumbbell racks
1. Order and safety: Dumbbell racks offer a way to bring order and safety to the free weight area. This helps prevent accidents caused by careless dumbbells lying around. Consistent use of the racks protects the dumbbells from damage to a great extent. The order creates a great training atmosphere and makes your clients, or yourself, excited for the upcoming workout.
2. Space saving: Properly storing dumbbells frees up more space on the training surface. This allows the space to be used for exercises. We also carry extra-flat dumbbell racks in our range to maximize the training space. Be inspired by our 3-tier extra-flat dumbbell rack .
3. Ergonomic gripping: A major advantage of dumbbell racks is the ergonomic placement and removal of the dumbbells. The height of the rack allows every athlete to comfortably grip the dumbbells without having to bend down to the floor.
What should you look for when buying a dumbbell rack?
1. Which dumbbells are compatible with which dumbbell rack? For safe and proper use, it is essential that the dumbbells fit the rack or rack plates. Feel free to contact our customer service for advice.
2. What capacity do I need for my dumbbells? Generally, a standard module and extension can accommodate approximately six pairs of dumbbells. Here's some guidance:
- I. Dumbbell set 1 to 10 kg - 10 pairs - dumbbell pyramid sufficient
- II. Dumbbell set 5 to 20 kg - 7 pairs - 1 basic module possibly 1 extension
- III. Dumbbell set 5 to 30 kg - 11 pairs - 1 basic module + 1 extension
- IV. Dumbbell set 5 to 40 kg - 15 pairs - 1 basic module + 2 extensions
- V. Dumbbell set 5 to 50 kg - 19 pairs - 1 basic module + 2 extensions, possibly a third extension
3. How much space is available for the weight rack? Can I install a two-tiered rack, or will that be too long for my free weight area? If this is the case, I'll need a flatter, possibly three-tiered weight rack. The priority is always the training experience, and this shouldn't be compromised by the rack's footprint.
