The SZ bar for unique arm training
A high-quality barbell should be a staple in every gym or home gym. The EZ bar provides the specific, isolated muscle contraction needed for strength training! The classic barbell is straight, while the EZ bar, with its curved shape, allows for an ergonomic hand position. This special barbell shape not only supports an ergonomic grip but also improves the execution of certain exercises. Ergonomic hand position can prevent injuries, particularly to the wrists. SZ bars - exercises
Thanks to its unique curved shape, the EZ bar allows for an ergonomic wrist and arm position. This positioning has a positive effect on the movement sequence in some strength exercises. Below, we'll discuss the most popular EZ bar exercises:
Bicep curls : The classic exercise, whether standing, sitting, or on a curl bench. An EZ bar is ideal for targeting the biceps muscles. The EZ bar offers two different grip variations depending on your preference. A narrow grip specifically targets the long head of the biceps. A wide grip focuses on the short head and the forearm muscles.
Triceps Press (French Press): The French press exercise, also known as the forehead press, is used by some athletes to develop strong and muscular triceps muscles. Combined with a flat bench and an EZ bar, the exercise can be optimally performed. The ergonomic hand position allows for an ideal range of motion for maximum success. The exercise can also be performed while standing.
The curl bar is also often used for upright rows and shrugs.
Suitable weight for an SZ bar
For optimal handling of the SZ bar, we recommend using a maximum of a 10 kg weight plate – approximately 35 cm in diameter. If exercises are performed behind the head or close to the body, larger weight plates can negatively impact handling and execution. In this context, the length of the weight plate holder is important to consider. We recommend, for example, the Polyurethane 4 Grip weight plate in 30 or 50 mm .
